Councilmembers Davis, Bedolla, and Evan’s Early Christmas Gift to Tracy City Attorney Bijal Patel
Update: Council Votes 3-2 to approve Patel Salary Raise.
Beleaguered Tracy City Attorney Bijal Patel, who has received numerous complaints filed about her conduct to the State Bar, the District Attorney, and Grand Jury, and who had her license suspended by the State Bar in breach of her contract, and who continued to practice law with a suspended license and did not tell the Council she was prohibited from practicing law, is teed-up to receive a retroactive 8.9% salary increase thanks to her minions on city council – Mayor Pro Tem Eleassia Davis, Councilman Mateo Bedolla, and Councilman Dan Evans.

Have you ever heard of someone getting an 8.9 percent raise without meeting any performance objectives and not receiving a performance review? Only Davis, Bedolla and Evans would do this with taxpayer money.
The incompetence demonstrated by Davis, Bedolla, and Evans empowers Patel to the point that all city related matters go through her before going forward. The three are responsible for creating this bureaucratic morass in the city attorney’s office, where all business applications and matters are bottlenecked and processed at the city attorney’s will. Good luck to those who are in Bijal Patel’s crosshairs; your application is likely to never see the light of day. (See Mike Sousa’s comments at a city council meeting.)
Patel's enablers - Councilmembers Davis, Bedolla, and Evans
The Tracy Swamp continues to grow under the leadership of Davis, Bedolla, Evans, and Patel. The four, coupled with likes of Tracy government stalwarts, Karin Schnaider ($264,764 annual salary) and Brian MacDonald ($264,764 annual salary), are running the city as they see fit, bloated salaries and all. If anyone questions any of these individuals, City Attorney Patel pounces on the ready. Watch any of the city council videos where Patel doesn’t like the direction of the conversation or questioning.
Tracy City Attorney Bijal Patel’s 8.9% increase to her $241,020 annual salary puts her new salary of $279,807 steps above the California Governor’s measly salary of $224,020 and his 2.5% annual increase.
It’s very unlikely that any resident in Tracy is set to get an 8.9% salary increase. We’d venture to say that in this economy a good percentage of hardworking people will get no annual salary increase. Leave it to the City of Tracy led by Davis, Bedolla, and Evans to give a massive salary increase to our city attorney, who failed to renew her license to practice law that every attorney is required to file. Merry Christmas indeed, Ms. Patel!
